  5. +You, as a registered user ("Become a registered
  6. +user":http://spiritual.istic.net/howThisWorks?action=newUser) have the
  7. +level sixteen magical ability to cast "Modify this page" on any page. If
  8. +you do this on any page that doesn't exist yet, then afterwards it does.
  9. The easiest way of doing this is to find somewhere to link to it from (Say,
  10. the front page) and edit that to include a link to your as-yet-nonexistant
  11. page, like this: [CC]myNewPage[CC], which will then look like this:
  12. ((myNewPage))
  13. <hr>
  14. h2. Formatting
  15. * ____italic____
  16. * ***bold***
  17. * --struck out--
  18. * ++added in++
  19. Headings are done by starting a line with h1. Your Title Here, replacing 1

  21. Formatting is reasonably logical and described better "at Textile's Home
  22. Page":http://www.textism.com/tools/textile/ (There's a certian
  23. bootstrapping problem to explaining the formatting here, since everything I
  24. write will be formatted according to the rules. This will be solved in a
  25. later version of the wiki software, which I (Aquarion) write).
  26. One way of seeing how the formatting works is to edit any page to see the
  27. source.
  28. If you want somewhere to muck around and experiment with wikiThings, I'd
  29. suggest the ((Playground)), for a better (or even 'a') description of what
  30. a wiki is, Start "here":http://wiki.org/wiki.cgi?WhatIsWiki
  31. h2. Linking

  34. [CC]item|title[CC] link to wiki page 'item' with the contents of the link
  35. as 'title'
  36. Put a link to another page in like this: "test": http://www.test.com
  37. becomes "test":http://www.test.com
  38. Surrounding any word or phrase with [CC]double brackets[CC] makes it an
  39. internal wiki link, a link to somewhere else on this site
  40. -Then when you try to follow the link to ((An uncreated page)) you will be
  41. +Then when you try to follow the link (ie, ((myNewPage)) above) you will be
  42. told this page doesn't exist, and asked if you want to create it. (Note
  43. -that the link is a different colour. This means it's a link to a
  44. -non-existant page. Links to existing pages look like this: ((help))
