  13. * Spare batteries for when your torch dies.
  14. * An extra blanket (No, really. Even if it's summer, it can still get
  15. damned cold at night.)

  18. * (Sun)glasses.
  19. * More socks (no, you need more)
  20. * Spare pants
  21. * Tent pegs
  22. * A mallet for hitting tent-pegs into the ground (Though you might be able
  23. to borrow one / ground might happen to be soft.)
  24. * An eye mask and ear plugs (mornings suck)
  25. * A spare blanket
  26. * Your sleeping bag (and possibly a liner, if the weather warrants and
  27. you've got one.)
  28. * A visit to the cash point to get enough cash for coffee, food, spare kit,
  29. etc.
  30. * Any spare / reserve food -- slab of chocolate, special gluten-free
  31. sandwiches, emergency backup tea, etc.
  32. * Alcohol (where applicable)
  33. * Soap / Shampoo / Conditioner / etc
  34. * Cheat shoes / foot-covering, for when you want to quickly shuffle to the
  35. loos at night without having to strap your boots on first.
  36. * Condoms (if not for you, then for the other silly sods who've neglected
  37. to bring theirs)
  38. * A toothbrush
  39. * Warm base-layers.
  40. * If you're eligible for a discount on account of being a student, OAP,
  41. unemployed or similar, bring the necessary credentials or paperwork to be
  42. able to claim that discount.
  43. * Makeup removal wipes
  44. * PJs if you wear them
  45. * Pump for air bed
  46. * Batteries / power cord for your air pump.

  48. * Bedroll / bedframe. (Presumably you'll only need this or an

  70. * Sunscreen. (Bring it even if the weather doesn't look it's going to be
  71. sunny. Surprises happen.)
  72. * Hayfever medication. (If it's the season for it, and you'll suffer
  73. without.)
  74. * The medication you take regularly and which makes your life miserable
  75. without it (if applicable).
  76. Bear in mind that while the green-hats are lovely and will do their utmost
  77. to help you, they're not legally permitted to provide you with painkillers
  78. or other medications; in general, they're only allowed to help you take
  79. your own -- so make sure to bring some!
  80. (That said, if you do find yourself short of something common, there'll
  81. likely be enough people around with spares that you'll be able to acquire
  82. some -- but it will be more of a hassle than having your own supply with
  83. you. )
